About Share Our Selves (SOS)
Founded in 1970, Share Our Selves (SOS) has grown to become a model nonprofit organization providing the highest quality comprehensive safety net services to the homeless and low-income populations in Orange County, California.

Share Our Selves was established to provide for the most serious concerns of the poor residing in Orange County – food, clothing and emergency financial aid for housing, transportation, prescriptions and children’s needs. In 1984, the mission of SOS expanded to include medical care and in 1987 expanded further to include dental care. The Comprehensive CARE Center opened in 2005 to provide mental health and counseling services. In September of 2010, SOS partnered with El Sol Academy, a charter school in Santa Ana, to open the SOS-El Sol Wellness Center. The Wellness Center is a school-based clinic that provides social services, screening and urgent care to the students and their families. The SOS and PEACE Center Health Clinic, opened in August 2012, In June of 2012, SOS also received designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), completing a two-year strategic plan to increase clinic sustainability and expand the patient population we serve.

For more than 40 years SOS has provided a safety net to those needing emergency assistance. We pride ourselves on our fast response time, quality services, lack of bureaucracy, and caring response to those in crisis.

Rib Company Celebrates 30 Days of Charity

30 Days of Charity

November 1-30, 2013

Family-owned and operated, the Rib Company's will be celebrating their 30-year anniversary in November by donating 20% of all dine-in and take-out sales to 30 local and national charities. The program runs November 1-30, 2013 at both Newport Rib Company in Costa Mesa and at the family’s second location, Naples Rib Company in Long Beach, CA.

Diners will have the opportunity to allocate funds to the charities that personally touch them. “As a family run business, we’re thankful our community has dined with us so faithfully over the years, enabling us to celebrate our 30th anniversary,” says John Ursini, co-owner of Newport Rib Company. “Giving back to the community that has supported us for three decades is the right thing to do.”
